Bushido Gold

Bushido Gold is a video slot developed by ELK Studios, released on March 24, 2026. It is the latest entry in the studio's long-running Gold series, bringing the recurring character Kane to a feudal Japanese setting built around the Bushido warrior code.

The game runs on a 6-column, 4-row grid that expands up to 8 rows during play. It combines four interlocking mechanics – Exploding Wilds, the Slice Feature, Cannons, and the Ninja – all of which can interact within a single spin sequence. Only the longest matching combination per line pays out – a gap between symbols breaks the chain.

All paying symbols exist in four sizes: 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, and 4×4. A bigger symbol is counted as the number of 1×1 positions it occupies – a 2×2 symbol counts as four 1×1 symbols. Empty spaces below big symbols are automatically filled with 1×1 symbols of the same type.

Bet controls are at the bottom of the screen, with a range from 0.20 to 100 per spin. Auto Spin is available by holding the Spin button or using the dedicated Auto Spin button. Exploding Wilds

Wild symbols substitute for any paying symbol. A winning combination made up entirely of Wilds pays as the highest-paying symbol. Wilds explode if they contribute to a win, or at the end of the game round. The explosion affects adjacent symbols – removing paying symbols and activating any feature symbols nearby. After an explosion, one additional row is added to the grid on the next symbol drop, up to a maximum of 8 rows. Big symbols are not affected by Wild explosions.

Slice Feature

The Slice Feature triggers when two identical symbols land in the first and last column on the same row. When this happens, all matching symbols on that row are cut in half. A sliced symbol appears as two half-sized symbols within a single 1×1 space, and each half is treated as a regular 1×1 symbol. Paying symbols, Bonus symbols, and Wilds can all be sliced. The Ninja and Cannon symbols cannot be sliced – instead, the Slice Feature activates them directly. A sliced symbol cannot be sliced again. If the first and last column show the same symbol type but in different sizes, the Slice Feature still triggers, but only rows with matching symbols are affected. Big symbols affected by the Slice Feature are broken down into 1×1 symbols before being sliced.

Cannons

The Cannon symbol is a blocker until activated. It activates when hit by the Slice Feature, another Cannon, an exploding Wild, or a throwing star from the Ninja. Once activated, after any pending symbol refill and before win evaluation, the Cannon shoots a pillar of Wilds upward. This expands the grid by one row if fewer than 8 rows are active, then converts into a Wild itself. The Cannon feature always triggers before win evaluation.

There are three Cannon types:

• Standard Cannon (1×1): Shoots a single-width pillar of Wilds upward.
• Big Cannon (2×2): Shoots a 2-symbol-wide pillar of Wilds and shares all other features of the standard Cannon.
• Golden Cannon: An upgraded version of the standard Cannon. Always generates the highest possible pillar of Wilds from its position, expanding the grid up to 8 rows if needed.

The Ninja

The Ninja symbol is a blocker that can be activated to trigger the Ninja feature. Only one Ninja symbol can appear on the grid at any time. It activates when hit by the Slice Feature, a Cannon shot, or an exploding Wild. Once activated, after any pending symbol refill and before win evaluation, the Ninja releases 2 to 10 throwing stars across the grid. Stars that hit paying symbols convert them into Wilds. Stars that hit feature symbols activate those features. A throwing star cannot land on a Wild or on an already-activated feature symbol.

Ninja Drops Bonus Game

Three or more Bonus symbols anywhere on the grid trigger the Ninja Drops Bonus game. Three Bonus symbols award 6 Ninja Drops, plus 2 additional Ninja Drops for each extra Bonus symbol beyond three. The Ninja symbol appears on the grid in every Ninja Drop.

The round includes a Safety Level mechanic. Each time a Ninja Drop produces a win, the Safety Level advances by one row. Every new drop then starts at the current active Safety Level, meaning the grid size – and the number of active ways to win – grows as the round progresses. Winnings are paid out at the end of each game round.

X-iter

The X-iter feature provides five buy-in options, all accessible from the base game only. The RTP for all X-iter modes is 96.0%.
